Description:

Goldman Sachs is looking for a passionate and experienced software engineer to join their Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team in Bengaluru. This is an incredible opportunity to be part of a global team that ensures the availability, reliability, and performance of some of the firm’s most critical services and platforms.

At Goldman Sachs, Engineers are not just developers — they’re problem solvers and system builders. In this role, you will be designing and supporting high-scale platforms and tools that enable other teams to build resilient and reliable systems across both cloud and on-premises environments.

Your impact will span from improving internal developer experiences to enhancing the firm’s infrastructure capabilities. You will collaborate closely with internal customers and SREs, and you’ll have technical ownership over solutions that are used every day by thousands of engineers.

If you’re someone who enjoys working with distributed systems, automation, and building for scale, this could be a great fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and support platforms and tools for SRE practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to help them onboard onto SRE platforms and follow best practices.
  • Automate operations, deployments, and monitoring to improve platform reliability.
  • Lead or participate in post-incident reviews and capacity planning efforts.
  • Contribute to a culture of reliability-first development.

Key Technical Skills:

Java, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Terraform, AWS, GCP, Linux, Networking, SRE, Monitoring tools, Distributed Systems, Automation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on industry experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language (Java or Go preferred).
  • Experience with algorithms, system design, debugging, and testing.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native solutions (AWS/GCP), infrastructure automation (Terraform), and modern monitoring systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across global teams and manage technical ownership.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.

Preferred but not mandatory:

  • Experience in scaling distributed systems.
  • Previous experience working in SRE or DevOps roles.
  • Exposure to incident management processes and SLIs/SLOs.

Why Join Goldman Sachs?

This isn’t just a job—it’s an opportunity to work on systems that power global markets, with a team that’s passionate about innovation and engineering excellence. You'll enjoy a collaborative culture, ongoing learning opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package that supports you and your family.
